Sivaji The BOSS - Food For (Crazy) Thought

I would like to highlight 3
messages from Sivaji which I perceive could be pointers of things to
come in future.

Those 3 highlights from Sivaji are i) Main characters of Sivaji, ii)
Who is the real villain in Sivaji and iii) How Sivaji tackles that
villain. If we analyse the above three one could
definitely see some pointers to real happenings - both past/present
as well as to future intent. Let me now eleborate on the three
highlights of Sivaji one by one.

1. Main characters of Sivaji: As all of us know, apart from
Thalaivar's character Sivaji, there are two other main characters
which are important for the story to unfold because of the way they
are closely intertwined with Sivaji. One of them is the herione's
character Tamizh Selvi, played by Shreya & the other, of course, is
Sivaji's uncle, played by Vivek. Both these characters will be
featured almost throughout the film.

Shreya symbolises Fans (who don't want Thalaivar in politics):

As per my view, Shreya's character in Sivaji represents the Rajini
fans in real life i.e. those ardent fans who worship him as Super
Star as also a good human being but are sceptical about his
political entry & his capabilities in that sphere as they think he
is too good to be able to survive there. This is because of their
affection to Rajini both as an actor & a person whose name they
don't want to be spoiled in the political saakkadai.

Shreya's character also is sculpted more or less the same way in
Sivaji. Initially she is very reluctant to even express her love
because of her parents, background & upbringing etc. and later on
too afraid for marriage because his horoscope is predicted to be a
bad one & will push him into severe financial trouble as also likely
to cause risks to his life.

Vivek symbolises Fans (who want Thalaivar in active politics):

On the other hand, Vivek's character represents the other type of
fans, fans like me, who want Thalaivar to get involved in public
life by utilising his goodwill and harnessing the mass support he
has got to do some good work to society thru socio-political
avenues. Vivek's character introduces Sivaji to Aadhiseshan,
persuades him to get involved with social work even at the cost of
giving bribes, stays with him during his insolvent & turmoil days,
helps him along in his new avatar as The BOSS without any
reservation, helps him to win over Shreya and last, but not the
least, front-ends him in his reincarnation as Motte Boss with the
police & public.

Those fans who believe Thalaivar should come to politics or get
involved with social service, are instrumental in making Thalaivar
to open up on his political views, to regularly "voice" his opinions
during elections and vociferously support him even now during his
open & bold request in TN Award function to CM to amicably solve the
Sethu project. If one day Thalaivar decides to become The BOSS in
real life, these are the fans who are going to be his hands and legs
to help him in his endeavour to cleanse the system in unconventional
ways. They will also be there with Thalaivar, as and when he
decides to reincarnate as Motte Boss in real life to canvass for him.

Irony of Shreya's character:

Even though Shreya is exteremely worried about the danger to
Sivaji's life due to horoscope mismatch, it is she who triggers the
event which culminates in the arrest of Sivaji & the supposed
killing of that character. But, it is that incident which gives
Sivaji no other option but to plunge full time into social work &
take care of Sivaji's enemies.

Similarly, in real life, even though some of the fans are not
positively inclined towards Thalaivar's political entry, ultimately
like Shreya in Sivaji, I feel, they are the ones who will be
instrumental in making Thalaivar to reincarnate as real life Motte
Boss. If they keep on harping about Thalaivar's inability to match
up with TN politicians and take on the exisitng system because of
his soft nature & clean image etc., who knows if and when Thalaivar
comes to know of these sceptical feelings of fans he may decide to
show them and the world HIS SIXTH FACE (like he says in Padayappa)
and plunge into active politics full time. I am eagerly looking
forward to that day.

So, even though fans like me who are always expecting Thalaivar to
come to politics, it will be our other friends, who don't want him
to come to politics, whose actions & opinions may act as the trigger
for Thalaivar to decide to stop his silence & change his career.
What an irony that would have been.

2. Who is the real villain in Sivaji?

It is the system which is the villain in Sivaji like in real life
political adminsitration too.

It is not Aadhiseshan's character but the system of black money
generation which is the real villain in Sivaji. Of course, it is
all because of Aadhi that Sivaji is forced to undergo so much
trouble - financially and legally & ultimately is reduced to a
pauper sans THE ONE RUPEE COIN.

I think, in Sivaji, Thalaivar has clearly expressed his intent that
he will tackle the system which is what is breeding the criminals &
baddies. For this, Thalaivar may ultimately use their own people by
converting them as his fans by sheer public pressure & adulation and
in a clever manner to outwit the politicians through unconventional
methods in their own game. So, for those of you, who think
Thalaivar will not be able to take on the present system in TN, he
has given the message in Sivaji that, he is in fact going to take
head on the system & turn the tables on his enemies, cleverly using
their own resources.

Then, who does the Aadhiseshan character represent in real life? It
undoubtedly represents Ramdas. Like Aadhi who funds the parties'
election expenses & makes or breaks a Govt. to suit his whims &
fancies, in real life we are seeing Ramdas doing the same. Using
his group of MLAs to support the minority DMK Govt., he is able to
thwart the attempts of MK even for genuine development activities
like Chennai Airport expansion project or Greater Chennai project or
Titanium project etc. because he has got huge tracts of land in and
around Chennai. MK also knows that if he antogonises him too much,
Ramdas won't flinch from changing his allegiance to JJ overnight.
Ultimately, what Ramdas wants is power without responsibility so
that he can continue to call the shots like a Dada, exactly like
Aadhi's character in Sivaji. Like Aadhi, Ramdas also is dead
against Thalaivar because, he knows Rajini is the one guy who can
put paid to all of Ramdas' dream of ruling TN one day in future.

Even though Sivaji outwits Aadhi to cleverly dupe him of Rs. 100
crores of black money, once Aadhi is arrested Sivaji doesn't stop
but proceeds to cleanse the entire system. But, it is not due to
Aadhi's efforts but because of the over-possessiveness of Shreya
that ultimately Sivaji is caught & killed by Aadhi with the help of
police. But, I am not sure, in reality, as & when Thalaivar steps
into politics, whether Thalaivar will tackle Ramdas first or will he
straightaway indulge in social or political activities without
bothering about opposition from Ramdas and other similar gangs.

3. How Sivaji tackles that villain - system ?

Sivaji tackles the system in unconventional ways. To put it
bluntly, MULLAI MULLAL EDUKKIRAAR. For that he uses Aadhi's own men
& their own strengths of beating people but for a good cause for the
country.

This may not be practical in real life. But, what can be done is to
have a clear staretegy of areas that needs to be tackled in which
people like Ramdas can't even open their mouth in public or even if
they open up, to be proved that they are doing it to protect their
own wealth and property and not for any public cause. In effect, to
call their bluff in public and with proof. If Thalaivar (and his
advisors, if any) can think through and come out with such smart
measures, whether it is Ramdas or RavanaDas - nobody will be able to
do anything because they will be thoroughly exposed in front of
public & that will be their poltical death knell.

Where is the One Rupee Coin?

May be it is the "Smoking Habit" of Thalaivar, which Ramdas used to
beat him with in the past. I don't know whether Thalaivar has
totally stopped smoking. Assuming he does, if only Thalaivar
decides to use that as a social message and come out with Public
Awareness Campaigns saying that having been a smoker for several
decades these are all the health hazards which smoking can give &
hence I have stopped smoking; so, i request other people also to
stop smoking. If such a message comes from Thalaivar it will have a
huge impact not only in TN but also the entire country & even UN may
request Thalaivar to be its Brand Ambassador for NO SMOKING
campaings. It will rob Ramdas & similar gangs an important point to
score against Thalaivar & using the huge mass awareness such a
campaign would have generated, Thalaivar can try to utilise for his
social activities as also to direct against any untoward activities
indulged in by politicians.

This is just an example which came to my mind. May be others can
think of aomething better.

Friends, all these thoughts of mine have germinated from watching
Sivaji 6 times and while watching Sivaji, I started juxtopsing many
scenes and charaters to real life situations and the result is this
post. I don't know how many of you has the patience to go thru such
a big post and even if you have gone thru, whether you like it or
not. But, as usual, I wanted to share my opinions and thoughts on
Thalaivar's political entry & how Sivaji might have given hidden
indications in that direction and here it is.

I sincerely pray that my hopes should fructify in the near future
and benefit the huge masses.

With Luv,

Arun
